Operational Board

Chief Executive Officer - Mr David D. Cross
Until recently, David was the Chairman and Co-owner of DCG Group Ltd, a United Kingdom company that owns and operates golf courses in the U.K. He was so impressed with Flamingo Lakes that he sold his interests in the Group and reinvested it in Platinum Yucatan Resorts.

His past history includes forming and developing D C Leisure, one of the UK’s largest and most highly respected leisure management companies. In 15 years he took this company from conception to operating 105 sites with a turnover of some £78 million pounds sterling, employing over 6,000 staff. He sold this company in 2003 to its management team. On leaving D C Leisure, as well as investing in golf, he formed with others an overseas property company that specialises in holiday homes on Crete. Three sites are currently under construction.

David still owns four golf courses in the UK of which Camberley Heath Golf Club is his flagship. With vast experience in golf, leisure and property construction, he is the ideal person to lead the operations of the company.

Director of Construction - Salvador Paredes del Valle
Salvador is a Mexican citizen who has recently successfully completed a similar role for the $65 million Yucatan Country Club just outside of Merida. This is the latest in an impressive catalogue of projects he has been responsible for over a number of years including further golf and resort construction, hospitals, residential developments, hotels, clubhouses, sailing clubs and general infrastructure and utility schemes.
Director of Golf Development - David Pottage
After qualifying as a Civil Engineer with a specialism in Drainage Engineering, David Pottage joined John Jacobs Golf Design in 1980, later becoming a partner in John Jacobs Golf Associates. He has worked on numerous prestigious construction projects including the Edinburgh Course at Wentworth, the Buckinghamshire, Golf d’Aprement in France and Golf Las Americas in Tenerife as well as designing golf courses worldwide.
Director of Administration - Carla Blanco
Starting her banking career as a Human Resource Analyst for Banamex in 1990 Carla quickly gained promotion, moving on to Banco Internacional. In 1993 she joined Banco Union as Director of Human Resources before gaining further promotion to HSBC Merida where she was responsible for managing the financial affairs of the top companies in Merida.
Marketing Manager - John Staniland
A graduate of Loughborough University with a BEd (Hons) and MSc in Leisure Management, has had an extensive career in the Leisure Industry. He worked closely with David Cross in establishing the first company in the UK to privately manage publicly owned leisure facilities before later moving into Leisure Management Consultancy. He has been involved in a wide variety of general projects as well as developing an in depth knowlege of the Health and Fitness market establishing successful clubs in his own right as well as for third parties.
Personal Assistant to the CEO and Senior Translator - Silvia Gomez
Silvia Gomez is a graduate of the Peninsula College of Modern Languages in Merida and is fluent in Spanish, English anf French with a working knowledge of Italian and German. She is also fully computer literate in the full suite of office management programs.
